When using the nick or constant, it may be a powerful buzz for young pups, so test on yourself to get an idea of what the receiver is sending off at each level. The battery life appears to be adequate. I've enjoyed the dogtra collars for my larger dogs and assumed they'd be nice for my smaller dogs as well. I'm pleased with my buy.
