Dog Beds

Dog beds for every sleeper: orthopedic and memory foam beds for seniors and big breeds, donut and bolster beds for dogs that curl up, loungers and futons for dogs that sprawl, plus crate mats, car beds and blankets. We carry Bowsers, Paw, Hiddin, New Age Pet and Lakeside, from small breeds to giant dogs. Most beds run about $70 to $350.

Start with how your dog sleeps and where the bed will go, then choose the size. Measure your dog lying stretched out from nose to tail and add a few inches; curlers can go a size smaller, sprawlers and big breeds a size larger. Look for a removable, washable cover, especially for puppies and outdoor dogs. Need a bed for a crate? Shop crate mats and pads.

How to choose a dog bed

Three things decide which bed is right: how your dog sleeps, your dog's age and joints, and where the bed will live.

1. Match the bed to how your dog sleeps

2. Size it right

Measure your dog lying stretched out, from nose to the base of the tail, and add a few inches. Curlers can use a smaller round bed; sprawlers, big breeds and dogs that share a bed need more room. For crates, match the mat to the crate's interior floor rather than to your dog.

3. Support for joints

Orthopedic and memory foam beds spread your dog's weight evenly, which helps senior dogs, large breeds and dogs with hip or joint stiffness get up and lie down more comfortably. Read orthopedic vs memory foam dog beds.

4. Covers and cleaning

A removable, machine-washable cover makes a bed last. Many Bowsers beds sell replacement covers and inserts, so you can refresh a bed instead of replacing it. For outdoor use, choose an outdoor-rated fabric such as the Bowsers Outdoor Urban Lounger.

Dog Beds FAQs

What size dog bed should I get?

Measure your dog lying stretched out from nose to the base of the tail and add a few inches. Dogs that curl up can use a smaller round bed; dogs that sprawl, big breeds and dogs that share need a larger bed. Text a pro at 737-215-3211 with your dog's breed and weight if you're between sizes.

Are orthopedic dog beds worth it?

For senior dogs, large breeds and dogs with joint stiffness, yes. Orthopedic and memory foam beds spread weight evenly and make it easier to lie down and get up. See our orthopedic and memory foam dog beds.

Can I wash these dog beds?

Most of our beds have removable covers you can machine wash; check the care instructions on each product. Many Bowsers beds also offer replacement covers and inserts.

What's the best bed for a dog that curls up?

A donut or round bolster bed, such as the Bowsers Donut or Double Donut, gives curlers a raised rim to lean into and a cozy, enclosed feel.

Do you have beds that fit inside a crate?

Yes. Crate mats and pads sized to crate floors, including mats made for Dakota 283 and Bowsers crates, are in our crate pads and accessories.

Can a dog bed be used outdoors?

Choose a bed made for it, such as the Bowsers Outdoor Urban Lounger, and keep it covered or bring it in during heavy rain. Indoor beds wear quickly outside.

How much does a good dog bed cost?

Most of our beds run about $70 to $350 depending on size and fill. Simple cushions start around $40, and specialty beds such as bunk beds and clear acrylic beds cost more.
