What is the difference between a wireless and an in-ground dog fence?

An in-ground fence uses a buried boundary wire, so you can shape the boundary around your yard, garden or pool. A wireless fence creates a circular boundary from a base unit, with no digging. It's quick to set up, but the boundary is less precise.

Do invisible dog fences work?

They work for most dogs when combined with training: flags mark the boundary, and the collar gives a warning tone before a correction. Plan on about two weeks of short daily training sessions. Invisible fences don't keep other animals out, so supervise your dog.

Can I add another dog to my fence?

Yes. Buy an extra receiver collar that matches your system's brand and model. We carry add-a-dog receivers for PetSafe, SportDOG and Perimeter Technologies fences.

How much boundary wire do I need?

Measure the perimeter of the area you want to contain and add wire to run from the transmitter to the boundary. Many kits include around 500 feet of wire and a set of flags, and you can add more wire and flags for larger yards.
